Teachable Moments
We've sent the older kids back to school, and now we can enjoy one-on-one time with our smallest ones. It is never too early to take advantage of teachable moments at home! The Square Cupboard's newest line, Melissa & Doug, is a must-have in every young child's home!
These puzzles are recommended as early as one year old. The First Shapes Jumbo Knob puzzle is extra thick and durable for the smallest hands. Using puzzles not only promotes fine motor skills, but these puzzles reinforce shapes, numbers, and the alphabet! Make learning fun early!
This classic wooden clock is one of our favorites! Telling time is a life skill that all children should learn. A colorful wooden clock features 12 shaped wooden blocks that fit into matching slots, plus movable hands! There are other things you can do to enhance your child's skills too. Take the numbers out and have your child put the numbers in order in a straight line. Take pieces away, and ask your child to tell you what is missing. Be creative! YOU are your child's first teacher!
Catch children in the act of behaving well and reward them, then watch
those good habits multiply! Open the fabric-hinged boards to reveal a
behavior chart on one board, while the other board keeps all the magnets
close at hand. A sturdy cord is attached for hanging. Dry-erase board
and 90 magnets including responsibilities, positive behaviors and
rewards. Who says being responsible isn't fun?
Give us a call or stop by to start your collection of teachable moments today!
